Defying Description

Today, before school, K, Brien, and I were joking around, having some fun, and getting ready for the day. I said something like, "That's really silly" or something to that effect. I don't know if K misheard me or what, but she quickly piped up, "I know something else that is like that."

Before we could guess what or who, she said, "Wait, guess from this!" and she started drawing a game of hang-man in the air. I wouldn't have known except for the quintessential hangman's platform with descending stairs.

Brien and I started laughing... I mean, we're used to her wanting to spell out her responses to us by writing her letters in the air (and the guesswork mayhem that ensues), but this was kicking it up a notch, for sure!

So, she began drawing the dashed lines to indicate the number of letters in the word when she stopped abruptly. "You can't look at this!," she commanded, and instructed us to look away while she completed her invisible hangman.

By this point, we were chuckling out loud, but she kept at her serious work.

Eventually, we got down to the guessing, though you can imagine our challenge in keeping track of the invisible letters that were not a part of the mystery word.

Finally, we had our answer - the word "Daddy," who is apparently "even sweeter than" whatever it was I was comparing silly things to when the whole air hangman game took wing.

THOSE are the moments I wish I could capture with whatever recording device would let me relive them over and over again. As it is, I only have my brain and this blog, so I guess that will have to do.
