Flexibility

K's got a little group of dolls from Fisher Price's "Sweet Streets" that she enjoys playing with. They're cute little things, albeit rather rigid -- able to bend at the waist, but that's about it.

Yesterday, we were playing in her room, and she had several of them all lined up, bent at the waist, but with their legs behind them. I said, "Shouldn't we bend them the other way, so they're sitting?" She said, "No, Mommy, they're STRETCHING!" Ah hah! I hadn't realized that!

She set about having everyone stretch until she realized that there was a problem with the "Daddy". I said, "He's just not made to bend that way, but, we can bend him the other way and have him sit." I did so and placed him in one of the 'Street's little wheelbarrows.

K pushed him in his contraption toward one of the little houses and said, "He can't stretch; he needs to go to the doctor so he can get all better!" It would be nice to be at an age where anything can be fixed!
