Running Commentary

Just a few funny things...

K has a collection of Disney Princess figurines which participate in all manner of activities with her. Unfortunately, Ariel and Pocahontas have gone missing and haven't turned up for quite a while.

After her nap today, she saw Sleeping Beauty. She said, "Look look! It's Ariel!" I said, "No, Baby, that's Sleeping Beauty." She said, "Well, we can call her Ariel, though. We can go to Meijer and get another one. I can ride in the car seat and we can get another one, I think."

I also realized, upon entering her room, that she'd removed her diapers (at some point), and had been lying in a puddle of pee. I asked her why in the world she'd taken off her diapers and had peed in her bed. "I told Daddy," she said, "but I don't think I am going to tell you." "How come?," I asked. "I don't know," she answered, "I am not going to tell you."

And, just for fun:
A Bear Named Arial

Later, while I was getting her clothes changed, she asked, "Mommy, are we always going to be friends?" I said, "Yes! Of course we are!" She said, "Say it, say it!" I said, "OK, little girl, are we always going to be friends?" She said, "Yes, we are! Even when I am fighting you and yelling and screaming and saying, 'Daddy, come get me,' we are going to still be friends then."
