Yesterday, K and I were eating lunch. She'd been asking for some of my yogurt with blueberries -- a favorite dish of hers -- so I gave her half of mine. She still needed a spoon, though, and was glad to demonstrate her kid spoon acquisition skills by pulling a chair up to the counter, climbing up on it, and getting her little spoon from a cup where we keep them in the cupboard.
While she was up there, I said, "Now, please be careful, OK?" She said, "Mommy, I am being careful! I'm as careful as can be!" ;) I have no idea where she got that phrase!
Today, I took her to the community center with me so I could work out and she could enjoy time @ the Kids' Korner. As we were getting out, I said, "Oh, you look so pretty today!" She said, "Ah, Mommy, that's because you dressed me in such a pretty outfit!" Now, that was sweet --that she'd attribute her own cuteness to my wardrobing. She's not even much of a dress-up girl, but she's very accommodating to wear whatever I provide her. Anyway, obviously, as a woman once commented to me about K when she was a bit over a year old - "She'd be beautiful in a paper sack." Ain't that the truth!
There was one other funny thing she said today, but, though I've wracked my brain to try to remember the context, all I can recall is the punchline... "That's impossible, Mommy!" And then she proceeded to tell me why. She's always amazing me in one way or another!
