As many of you know, K is not known for her mellow moods or for calming her spazz long enough to check out what you're doing, most of the time. So, our time together yesterday was full of sweet surprises.
Recently, disgusted with my lack of weightloss success, despite working out at the gym for an hour, 5 days a week, I decided to try something different and fun. It's called Turbo Jam, and it's basicaly a combo of moves taken from kickboxing and Capoeira. I purchased the DVDS and set myself up in the dining room for a workout. Day 1 was great! Day 2, my computer's DVD drive decided to kick the bucket, and no amount of coaxing, reinsertion of the drive, cleaning of the disk, or rebooting would cure its issue.
So, I decided to switch to K's computer, which had a functional drive but a malfunctioning video driver. Add to that that the Windows software was out of date and would not permit me to install Windows Media Viewer, and there went an hour as I tried to download and use various alternative DVD players.
Meanwhile, K was standing by, waiting for our workout. She could see that I wasn't getting anywhere. But, rather than being impatient, she stayed by my side, coming around behind me to give me a hug or stroke my face and tell me, "It's OK, Mama. You're going to get it!"
FINALLY I configured things to work, and we began our workout. K had fun running around the room and going between my legs as I was attempting the moves. Finally, she sat down at the threshold to the kitchen. I said, "Come on! Exercise with me." She said, "No, I like to watch you do it. You're doing a GREAT JOB!"
What better cheering section could anyone need than that?
:)!!
